We have to do this with my mom's older cat (left) since he had congestive heart failure a few years ago. Thankfully he doesn't freak out or anything, but he doesn't like it and often tries to hide. Once we get a hold of him though, it's not really a fight anymore to medicate him

This guy is so dramatic- if you attempt to hold him for more than 10 seconds he hyperventilates and passes out.

Kitty needs to be bundled tighter so just his face is out. I worked in a veterinary clinic and we had a cat escape into the ceiling tiles for a week. 🤣

Got a huge 18lb boy who *hates* medicine, and he's so strong that even if I kneel on the floor and squish him between my legs, he still muscles his way free. I had a clever old girl who would sit patiently and open her mouth for her meds. She knew bitter was better than illness.

Just like a child, you have to hold them down to give them medicine, haha

It must taste awful. Maybe they ought to make it flavored like chicken flavored tuna flavored.

Pill pockets were good for us - for a while...

I have to give my cat levetiracetam 3x a day. He’s so good with it.

Making them take pills is way worse. This looks easy af. Especially if you actually hold their head still.

Doing it all wrong. The swaddle has to be snug, you hold them from behind, raise the jaw just behind canines until mouth opens, squirt lol I'm so proud my orange boi takes his syringe medicine with zero fuss lol

Unless the medicine needs to be given without food, just mix it in with wet food and they'll take it with no question and no fuss.

Too big of a syringe. You can get the same mL in a smaller cc syringe that can fit better in the side of the mouth.

Try pretending to accidentally drop the medicine on the floor and they’re gonna wolf it down like they’ve been starving for centuries
