MIGUEL CARDOSO We are in the CAF Champions League to represent South Africa. Our match against Orbit College has been moved forward to Tuesday, 10 March. It was originally scheduled for 14 March. We have a CAFCL fixture on 13 March. We asked the PSL to let us play on the 7th. They refused. The PSL is sabotaging us. When I was in Tunisia, no league matches were scheduled when we were playing CAFCL. [And I won the CAFCL as a result 🙄]

Sometimes as fans, we are mostly focused on how the achievements of the team means to us and we forget about the players. How they feel about it, what it means for them to win these games. Take Noni Madueke for instance, his transfer to Arsenal was a mess. A lot of the fans didn't understand the move and there was a lot of displeasure about it online. How do you think that made Madueke feel? This is a guy who was on top of his game in the Netherlands before moving to Chelsea and everything changed for him. He went from a confident dribbling monster, fighting for silverware to whatever he was at Chelsea, a shadow of himself. Now he has won the league in his first season at Arsenal and made the world cup squad for England. Arteta is not only saving the lives of the fans, he is also saving the lives of his players. Thank you Arteta.

They injected £180m to sign 14 players because according to him, you have to do something extraordinary to survive the premier league. Before the season also started, himself and his team have planned what January transfer would look like: 1. If we’re in the bottom 3, there are certain players we would get 2. If we’re in the top 10, there are certain players we would also get. Now, his master strategy is to recruit young players, and maintain an average age. Sunderland were the youngest team in League one, the youngest in the championship and now the 3rd youngest in the premier league, only behind Chelsea & Brentford. Despite this master strategy, it’s just like in agile project management framework, your plan needs to be flexible to accommodate changes, he’s recruited “experience” in Xhaka and Reinildo, to guide the youth.
