Yeah Oregon adopted a Sundown town policy and literally was banning any Black person from living there.

Oregon has never been on my radar, especially when the vast landscape of America offers many spaces where Black communities exist prominently. Remember, we constitute 13.4% of the U.S. populace, yet numerous American locales witness a low presence of Black individuals. Distributing the Black-American populace evenly across each state would yield a ratio of 887,080:1. But why fixate on Oregon? We have many other states teeming with our vibrant culture and heritage. Consider the top 10 states where Black Americans are a formidable presence: 1. Texas: Boasting over 3.8 million Black American. 2. Florida: Home to more than 3.2 million. 3. Georgia: A proud state with over 3.4 million Black Americans. 4. New York: Sheltering upwards of 3.1 million from our community. 5. California: Where over 2.3 million Black Americans reside. 6. North Carolina: With a strong base of over 2.2 million Black individuals. 7. Illinois: Enriched by over 1.8 million Black Americans, notably around Chicago. 8. Maryland: Embracing over 1.9 million of our people, especially around Baltimore. 9. Virginia: Hosting over 1.6 million Black Americans. 10. Louisiana: Celebrating over 1.5 million Black Americans, with New Orleans as a cultural beacon. With such vibrant communities across these states, Oregon scarcely crosses my mind. Our essence and spirit are deeply woven into the fabric of these ten states, each telling a story of resilience, culture, and community.

Her video asks why Oregon is only 2.5% black? California is only 6.5% black, but has the 5th โ€œlargestโ€ black population because of population size. Only 4M people live in OR but 39M live in CA which means sheโ€™ll see more black people because the population is larger. Study math!

You should be thankful they kept black people out, that way you didn't have to live on that "stolen land" Btw, until WWII there were hardly any black people living anywhere on the West coast and it had nothing to do with racism.
