It’s made up. The term brain death was invented to justify organ harvesting. Brain death is not a physiological reality—they have never observed a brain truly “dead” while the body remains alive. How could they even distinguish it? When transplant technology became available, organs were sometimes taken from living donors and the first organ removed was from an infant. The medical establishment knew the public would reject the idea of harvesting organs from living people, so committees were formed to rationalize it. That’s how the concept of brain death was created. It exists purely to justify organ transplants. No studies were conducted on patients in comas or on life support. No analysis was done on recovery rates or lifespan outcomes. The term was simply invented to make the procedure appear acceptable. Organ harvesting is a part of a sacrifice ritual and brain death has made it mainstream.
