This is not true. Our Western numbers today derive from Arabic ones:

You can make up math but you can’t make up history

An interesting method of communicating the symbols to something that makes sense, but ultimately, not the origin. Our numerals are originate from Hindu symboled which were then developed through western Arabic before it was adopted in the west

Quick note: Zero wasn’t intuitive and it wasn’t around all the time like regular numbers. It was invented at around the V century in India then adopted progressively by scholars around the world.

Why would someone make it their life’s work to figure out why numbers are shaped the way they are and 55 years later make a video of “why” just to get community noted 😂 loser

Zero was invented by Al Kharezmi, it was a dot, you're using Arabic numbers it had nothing to do with angles and their count dumb idiots.

I'm pretty sure this is absolute horseshit. Our numbers come from Arabic numerals. And they did not look exactly like that. We transitioned from Roman numerals to Arabic ones because they had a zero and you can't do complex math without it.

Hmm 🤔 Is this true or BS? You have to write them funny to get it to be consistent. I guess I'd have to see some old timey numbers written like you suggest.
