Original ABC commercial for The Real Ghostbusters

They look different. Looks like the animation and final designs were sharpened up. Like TMNT, one of the greatest cartoons of all time until it got lightened up.

Yep! The commercial is based on the Pilot, which shows the Ghostbusters in all tan suits and their movie likenesses are used. This pilot was recently restored in HD and included in the Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II 4k Steelbook a few years ago.

I remember stumbling into Extreme ghostbusters. I was a huge fan of the movies and original cartoon. Then (from memory) I was watching I think wb kids?.. and it was early morning before school.. and I remember seeing the ghost in the subway during the title sequence..

Even though it's pilot content in the commercial, it looks so good. It's too bad the animation and stories took a dive after around Season 2 because they had a lower budget. Same as TMNT and even Batman the Animated Series.

Looks like they were originally gonna use the movie designs for the equipment. Huh.
