Jordan (“Sinners”) 🎭 Best Actress — Jessie Buckley (“Hamnet: The Story That Inspired Hamlet”) 🎭 Best Supporting Actor — Sean Penn (“Battle After Battle”) 🎭 Best Supporting Actress — Amy Madigan (“Weapons”) 🎬 Best Original Screenplay — “Sinners” 🎬 Best Adapted Screenplay — “Battle After Battle” 🌍 Best International Feature Film — “Sentimental Value” (Norway) 🎞 Best Documentary Feature — “Mr. Nobody Against Putin” 🎭 Best Costume, Makeup and Production Design — “Frankenstein” The biggest winner of the night was “Battle After Battle,” taking home six Oscars. Interestingly, one of the favorites in the acting categories this year was Timothée Chalamet (“Marty the Magnificent”), but the award ultimately went to Michael B. Jordan for “Sinners.” Just days before the ceremony, Chalamet found himself at the center of controversy over remarks about opera and ballet that may have cost him the Academy’s vote. “I don’t want to work in ballet, or opera, or any other industry that has to be artificially kept alive even if no one cares about it,” the actor said. Sean Penn, who won Best Supporting Actor for “Battle After Battle,” did not attend the ceremony. According to The New York Times, he traveled to Europe to visit Ukraine. It is Penn’s third Oscar, making him one of the most decorated actors.
