Ospreys in this area have an eagle alarm call. When they spot an eagle coming, they make a very specific sound to alert all the other ospreys in the area. Every time I hear that call, I know something crazy is about to happen.

This is exactly why Ben Franklin argued strongly against the Bald Eagle being the emblem of the US. He said it was too much of a scavenger & a pirate just like this and shouldn't represent the great United States of America, thus suggested the wild turkey for its zeal & courage.

My regard for bald eagles fell sharply after watching them dumpster diving in the parking lot of a Dutch Harbor supermarket.

It's hard not to anthropomorphize that bloody eagle. The osprey does all the work and the eagle grabs the spoils. No wonder the osprey has worked out a special cry. How can the eagle look so marvellous and behave so badly? There might be people like that.

Awesome video capture! 😍👍#BaldEagles #Osprey ~Funny how some so quick to judge bald eagle 4 stealing. They mostly get their own fd, but yes, are opportunistic and will steal when they can. It reminds me how people also judge/make false claims about #Hyena who are also hunters.

Have watched this in person and it’s amazing. Eagles are faster, but Osprey corner better. The dogfight can go on for quite a while. Determining factor is the size of the fish. Too big a fish slows the Osprey down.

What a clip!! I’ve seen white-tailed eagles do the same... Below (far away) shots: 1st of the eagle chasing the osprey w fish (a seagull following closely), the 2nd just after the osprey dropped the fish, the 3rd with the osprey bomb diving the eagle (which it did repeatedly)…

I think the local ospreys are always trying to outdo each other and when it comes to amazing fish to yank from the ocean, the ribbon fish is high on the list of rarities. I have only seen this a handful of times but every single time I have witnessed an osprey flying around with this prehistoric alien like creature clutched tightly in its talons, the osprey will look down in disbelief at its newly acquired meal and then proceed to parade it around the skies showing off to all the other birds in the area. Easily one of my favorite fish to see them haul away.

The Blind Eagle, always blind to the main issue. Anyway, we hope the Blind Eagle doesn’t hit the wall very soon. Maybe one day, I will petition the ICPC to investigate the EFCC, and then petition the EFCC to investigate the ICPC, because it seems the Blind Eagle doesn’t even know its job. When it comes to politicians, the Blind Eagle—the EFCC—seems to go blind. But when it comes to naira mutilation, Yahoo boys, and other minor offences, they suddenly become very active. Anyway, maybe one day, they will have a better explanation.

Today I bumped a not the RNLI try to get donations. They will tell you that Dover call-outs for migrant boats is only 1.2%, what they fail to tell you is that rescues/people in the water only make up 10.5% of there call-outs, now when they taxi in the 1.2% of Dover call-outs it’s 100s at a time which in theory is much more then the other 10.5% RNLI Tommy Robinson 🇬🇧
