Rebel reinforcements headed to Universal Ostrich Farms Chief Reporter Sheila Gunn Reid is headed from Alberta to rural British Columbia, where Rebel News Canada reporter Drea Humphrey is embedded as the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is expected to carry out a cull of 400 healthy ostriches at any moment. This morning, I'm making an 11-hour drive with a home-built micro trailer on the road to Edgewood, British Columbia. That's where Rebel News reporter Drea Humphrey is embedded at Universal Ostrich Farms, the site of an ongoing battle between farmers, their supporters and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency over the fate of 400 birds. Drea has been working around the clock as the CFIA is set to impose a cull on the flock of healthy ostriches — all because the birds were exposed to avian flu approximately 250 days ago. Now, the birds are healthy, but the CFIA refuses to test them to make sure they're healthy, or sick, before they kill them. The worst part? These are not birds that are for human consumption, they're not even birds meant for cowboy boots. These birds are being used in research for diseases like avian flu, and even COVID-19. If these birds are killed, that research dies, too.

The Supreme Court of Canada today has decided to ALLOW CFIA to kill hundreds of healthy ostriches that do not have "bird flu." The Supreme Court of Canada has allowed CFIA to NOT even have to TEST the HEALTHY animals for bird flu...even though that's why CFIA says they are killing them. Canada has become a disgrace.

The CFIA BC Ostrich Farm cull is a farce and an infringement of our basic rights and freedoms. Many such recent and horrific cases here in Canada! The CFIA is threatening anyone who tests the birds to see if they're even sick with fines and jail time. It's scientifically and morally wrong yet our leaders are silent. They like to stay silent when things get bad and the country needs their voices the most. Why are the Conservatives trying so hard to please people who hate them and who will never vote for them? Why are they silent when it comes to speaking up for the constituents who put them in office? Maybe I can help explain exactly what's going on because it seems many of them seriously don't get it. It's time to speak up.
