COMMUNIQUE ISSUED BY PDP GOVERNORS' FORUM AFTER ITS 2025/4TH MEETING HELD IN IBADAN ON MONDAY, APRIL 15, 2025 The Peoples Democratic Party Governors' Forum (PDPGF) PDP Governors' Forum held its 2025/4th Meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State, and resolved the following; 1.Noting the nationwide speculations about possible merger of political parties, groups and/or associations, the Forum resolved that the Official PDP Nigeria will not join any coalition or merger. However, the PDP as a major opposition party welcomes any party, persons or groups that are willing to join it with a view to wrestling power and enthroning good leadership in 2027. 2.The Forum reiterates its position taken in Asaba on the issue of the National Secretary of the party, but in the wake of the Supreme Court judgment, Forum resolved to recommend that the Deputy National Secretary acts as National Secretary, pending the nomination and ratification of a Substantive Secretary from the South East Zone and NEC respectively at its next meeting. 3.The Forum reasserts our collective determination to avert a rape of our constitutional democracy hence the decision of approaching the Supreme Court to give a clear cut verdict on the interpretation of the provisions of the law on the declaration of State of Emergency in any state. The Forum restates its solidarity with His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, on the ordeal into which his state and people are being plunged by the declaration of a state of emergency. And we reiterate our commitment to stand with him till the end. 4. The Forum finds alarming the worsening security situation in the country, as evidenced in parts of the country especially Borno, Plateau, Katsina and Edo States. The Forum calls for review and reordering of priorities and strategies including adopting a bottom up template that guarantees the sub-nationals to constitute an effective line of defence against security breaches. While raising the concerns above, we condemn the recent attacks in Plateau State, and commiserate with the government and people of the state especially those who lost their lives and properties during this unfortunate mishap. 5. The Forum resolves that working in conjunction with the National Working Committee (NWC) and other relevant organs of the party, to hold a NEC Meeting on the 27th of May, 2025; constitute a Zoning Committee that will address all issues relating to zoning of party offices and hold an early convention in August 2025, precisely on the 28th, 29th and 30th in the ancient city of Kano. 6. The Forum equally recommends the constitution of the Zoning and National Convention Committees for ratification by the NWC and NEC as follows; Zoning Committee: Gov. Douye Diri โ€“ Chairman; Gov. Dauda Lawal โ€“ Vice Chairman and Gov. Caleb Mutfwang โ€“ Secretary, while the National Convention Committee has Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri as Chairman; Gov. Ademola Adeleke as Vice Chairman and Gov. Peter Mbah as Secretary. 7. The Forum expressed its gratitude to the host Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the government and good people of Oyo state for their hospitality. Finally, Bola has a mother with a name. Sule Lamido poured petrol on fire. He said โ€œIBB is alive, go & ask him.โ€ The entire Agbado Camp is in disarray. The Presidency will respond but Nigerians already read the full story from David Hundeyin. Nothing is new under the sun. As far as Nigeria goes? BAT is a story retold. 1. โ€œHe built Lagos.โ€ โŒ 2. โ€œHe fought for Democracy.โ€ โŒ Sule Lamido has set the tone for 2027. The man just cut the red tape. They are about to deflate Bola Tinubuโ€™s oversized ego. So let the wahulence begin. Iโ€™m here for that & more. โœŒ๏ธ Your political elites knew these before 2023, & kept quiet. They knew about Buhariโ€™s aloofness before 2015, but sold him as the messiah. Nigeria is the only country where elders have become โ€œtransactionalโ€ in nation-building. Like Hollywoodโ€™s fictional character, James St. Patrick โ€œGhost,โ€ Bola Tinubu is how a kingpin gets to rebrand himself, & not get caught. Nigeria is living a lie. Your History, if itโ€™s any good, has taught me that โ€œevery villain is the hero of their own story.โ€ This is true for BAT. Sule Lamido was right. Don't forget that Prof. Wole Soyinka also served as the "first chairman" of the Federal Road Safety (between 1988-1992) under Babaginda. Bola Tinubu attended IBB's Book Launch, why? THINK! June 12 NADECO story has a phony ringtone. BAT has this thing called the โ€œSpirit of Covetousnessโ€ the Bible warned us against. To be covetous is to be greedy of gain. To have a covetous spirit is to have a restless spirit that never experiences peace. Book of Exodus 20:17 He likes to appropriate othersโ€™ achievements to himself. This is the man that put up a life-size portrait of himself at Eagle Square on June 12. The whole site reeked of fascism & its sister - megalomania. โ€œOn you mandate we stand!โ€ It was obvious why he made that large art frame of himself on Democracy Day, instead of MKO Abiola. They wear June 12 & NADECO like badge. Yet, cowards were abroad, cashing cheques & writing articles (while the real heroes of democracy faced the bullets in Nigeria). The man who likes to be worshiped cannot help himself. โ€œDoes the Tinubu you know look like a man that will fight for Nigerians, & not himself?โ€ A lie can run for a thousand years. It takes a day for the truth to catch up. Nigerians are desperately waiting for a lifeline. Many are largely ignored by the government. No love lost there. There will be a reckoning down the road. Just a question of when? I kinda enjoyed the way Sule Lamido kept referencing Bola as a โ€œphony character." That's Elite Mannerism, "you can't touch me." He did that with a straight face, & backed it up with apologies for the embarrassments. IBB is still alive, & he should speak. Maradonna should set the records straight for posterity. Telling History precisely the way it happened, it shouldnโ€™t be predicated on anyoneโ€™s comfort. Young Nigerians deserve to know the true story of โ€œJune 12โ€ from the horse's mouth. It is their checkered history, don't keep it from them. The History of Nigeria is that of blood, lies, betrayal, & shame. Nigeria has been through blood & shame; nowadays, it lives in denial. If Nigeria must move forward, then we should stop pretending that all is well, & start to tell ourselves the truth. Healing comes after that. Anyway, congratulations to David Hundeyin. David is how underdogs can win. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

VIDEO: 2023 ELECTIONS; AT LAGOS COLLATION CENTRE "The Power of Unity and the Journey Ahead" Fellow Nigerians, Today marks another year since the historic 2023 presidential electionsโ€”a moment that reminded us all of the extraordinary power we hold when we stand together. As Chairman of the Labour Party in Lagos State, I reflect not only on the triumph of that day but on the enduring truth it revealed: Change is possible when the people unite with purpose. The 2023 elections were a testament to courage. I remember standing at the collation center in Lagos, facing intimidation, threats, and the weight of a political behemoth that had long assumed invincibility. Yet, in that moment, I was unshakenโ€”not by personal strength, but by the resolve of millions of Lagosians and Nigerians who dared to believe in a new path. Together, we proved that no structure is too mighty to withstand the collective will of the people. The victory was not mine; it was ours. But anniversaries are not just for remembranceโ€”they are a call to action. Today, I urge you not to succumb to complacency. The Nigeria of our dreams is not won in a single election. The road ahead demands even greater vigilance, awareness, and unity. I understand the fatigue many feel. The cost of living, insecurity, and systemic challenges test our hope daily. Yet, empathy reminds us that our struggles are shared. The same spirit that fueled 2023โ€™s defiance must now drive us to engage deeperโ€”to attend ward meetings, demand accountability, register voters, and reject divisive narratives. Political awareness is not a choice; it is our duty. Let us also remember that our strength lies in diversity. Ethnicity, religion, and class too often divide us, but the 2023 elections showed that a united front can dismantle even the tallest barriers. Let that lesson guide us: our differences are not weaknesses but threads in a stronger national fabric. To the youths, market women, artisans, professionals, and every citizen who stood firm that yearโ€”this is your legacy. Protect it. Nurture it. The journey continues not just in 2027, but in every small choice to hold power to account, to speak truth, and to prioritize Nigeria over self. On that day, we lit a torch. Let us keep its flame alive. The road is long, but with unity of purpose....All is possible. Forward Ever Pst Dr (Mrs) Dayo Ekong Chairman,Labour Party Lagos State.

The speech that I could not deliver because German police burst into our Berlin venue to disband our Palestine Congress (1930s style). Judge for yourselves the kind of society Germany is becoming when its police bans the following words: Friends, Congratulations, and heartfelt thanks, for being here, despite the threats, despite the ironclad police outside this venue, despite the panoply of the German press, despite the German state, despite the German political system that demonises you for being here. โ€œWhy a Palestinian Congress, Mr Varoufakis?โ€, a German journalist asked me recently? Because, as Hanan Asrawi once said: โ€œWe cannot rely on the silenced to tell us about their suffering.โ€ Today, Asrawiโ€™s reason has grown depressingly stronger: Because we cannot rely on the silenced who are also massacred and starved to tell us about the massacres and the starvation. But there is another reason too: Because a proud, a decent people, the people of Germany, are led down a perilous road to a heartless society by being made to associate themselves with another genocide carried out in their name, with their complicity. I am neither Jewish nor Palestinian. But I am incredibly proud to be here amongst Jews and Palestinians โ€“ to blend my voice for Peace and Universal Human Rights with Jewish Voices for Peace and Universal Human Rights โ€“ with Palestinian Voices for Peace and Universal Human Rights. Being together, here, today, is proof that Coexistence is Not Only Possible โ€“ but that it is here! Already. โ€œWhy not a Jewish Congress, Mr Varoufakis?โ€, the same German journalist asked me, imagining that he was being smart. I welcomed his question. For if a single Jew is threatened, anywhere, just because she or he is Jewish, I shall wear the star of David on my lapel and offer my solidarity - whatever the cost, whatever it takes. So, letโ€™s be clear: If Jews were under attack, anywhere in the world, I would be the first to canvass for a Jewish Congress in which to register our solidarity. Similarly, when Palestinians are massacred because they are Palestinians โ€“ under a dogma that to be dead they must have been Hamas โ€“ I shall wear my keffiyeh and offer my solidarity whatever the cost, whatever it takes. Universal Human Rights are either universal or they mean nothing. With this in mind, I answered the German journalistโ€™s question with a few of my own: ยท Are 2 million Israeli Jews, who were thrown out of their homes and into an open air prison 80 years ago, still being kept in that open air prison, without access to the outside world, with minimal food and water, no chance of a normal life, of travelling anywhere, and bombed periodically for 80 years? No. ยท Are Israeli Jews being starved intentionally by an army of occupation, their children writhing on the floor, screaming from hunger? No. ยท Are there thousands of Jewish injured children no surviving parents crawling through the rubble of what used to be their homes? No. ยท Are Israeli Jews being bombed by the worldโ€™s most sophisticated planes and bombs today? No. ยท Are Israeli Jews experiencing complete ecocide of what little land they can still call their own, not one tree left under which to seek shade or whose fruit to taste? No. ยท Are Israeli Jewish children killed by snipers today at the orders of a member-state of the UN? No. ยท Are Israeli Jews driven out of their homes by armed gangs today? No. ยท Is Israel fighting for its existence today? No. If the answer to any of these questions was yes, I would be participating in a Jewish Solidarity Congress today. Friends, Today, we would have loved to have a decent, democratic, mutually-respectful debate on how to bring Peace and Universal Human Rights for everyone, Jews and Palestinians, Bedouins and Christians, from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea with people who think differently to us. Sadly, the whole of the German political system has decided not to allow this. In a joint statement including not just the CDU-CSU or the FDP but also the SPD, the Greens and, remarkably, two leaders of Die Linke, joined forces to ensure that such a civilised debate, in which we may disagree agreeably, never takes place in Germany. I say to them: You want to silence us. To ban us. To demonise us. To accuse us. You, therefore, leave us with no choice but to meet your accusations with our accusations. You chose this. Not us. ยท You accuse us of anti-Semitic hatred o We accuse you of being the antisemiteโ€™s best friend by equating the right of Israel to commit war crimes with the right of Israeli Jews to defend themselves. ยท You accuse us of supporting terrorism o We accuse you of equating legitimate resistance to an Apartheid State with atrocities against civilians which I have always and will always condemn, whomever commits them โ€“ Palestinians, Jewish Settlers, my own family, whomever. o We accuse you of not recognising the duty of the people of Gaza to tear down the Wall of the open prison they have been encased in for 80 years โ€“ and of equating this act of tearing down the Wall of Shame โ€“ which is no more defensible than the Berlin Wall was โ€“ with acts of terror. ยท You accuse us of trivialising Hamasโ€™ October 7th terror o We accuse you of trivialising the 80 years of Israelโ€™s ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and the erection of an ironclad Apartheid system across Israel-Palestine. o We accuse you of trivialising Netanyahuโ€™s long-term support of Hamas as a means of destroying the 2-State Solution that you claim to favour. o We accuse you of trivialising the unprecedented terror unleashed by the Israeli army on the people of Gaza, W. Bank and E. Jerusalem. ยท You accuse the organisers of todayโ€™s Congress that we are, and I quote, โ€œnot interested in talking about possibilities for peaceful coexistence in the Middle East against the background of the war in Gazaโ€. Are you serious? Have you lost your mind? o We accuse you of supporting a German state that is, after the United States, the largest supplier of the weapons that the Netanyahu government uses to massacre Palestinians as part of a Grand Plan to make a 2-State solution, and peaceful coexistence between Jews and Palestinians, impossible. o We accuse you of never answering the pertinent question that every German must answer: How much Palestinian blood must flow before your, justified, guilt over the Holocaust is washed away? So, letโ€™ s be clear: We are here, in Berlin, with our Palestinian Congress because, unlike the German political system and the German media, we condemn genocide and war crimes regardless of who is perpetrating them. Because we oppose Apartheid in the land of Israel-Palestine no matter who has the upper hand โ€“ just as we opposed Apartheid in the American South or in South Africa. Because we stand for universal human rights, freedom and equality among Jews, Palestinians, Bedouins and Christians in the Ancient Land of Palestine. And so that we are even clearer on the questions, legitimate and malignant, that we must always be ready to answer: Do I condemn Hamasโ€™ atrocities? I condemn every single atrocity, whomever is the perpetrator or the victim. What I do notcondemn is armed resistance to an Apartheid system designed as part of a slow-burning, but inexorable, ethnic cleansing program. Put differently, I condemn every attack on civilians while, at the same time, I celebrate anyone who risks their life to TEAR DOWN THE WALL. Is Israel not engaged in a war for its very existence? No, it is not. Israel is a nuclear-armed state with perhaps the most technologically advanced army in the world and the panoply of the US military machine having its back. There is no symmetry with Hamas, a group which can cause serious damage to Israelis but which has no capacity whatsoever to defeat Israelโ€™s military, or even to prevent Israel from continuing to implement the slow genocide of Palestinians under the system of Apartheid that has been erected with long-standing US and EU support. Are Israelis not justified to fear that Hamas wants to exterminate them? Of course they are! Jews have suffered a Holocaust that was preceded with pogroms and a deep-seated antisemitism permeating Europe and the Americas for centuries. It is only natural that Israelis live in fear of a new pogrom if the Israeli army folds. However, by imposing Apartheid on their neighbours, by treating them like sub-humans, the Israeli state is stoking the fires of antisemitism, is strengthening Palestinians and Israelis who just want to annihilate each other and, in the end, contributes to the awful insecurity consuming Jews in Israel and the Diaspora. Apartheid against the Palestinians is the Israelisโ€™ worst self-defence. What about antisemitism? It is always a clear and present danger. And it must be eradicated, especially amongst the ranks of the Global Left and the Palestinians fighting for Palestinian civil liberties โ€“around the world. Why donโ€™t Palestinians pursue their objectives by peaceful means? They did. The PLO recognised Israel and renounced armed struggle. And what did they get for it? Absolute humiliation and systematic ethnic cleansing. That is what nurtured Hamas and elevated it the eyes of many Palestinians as the only alternative to a slow genocide under Israelโ€™s Apartheid. What should be done now? What might bring Peace to Israel-Palestine? ยท An immediate ceasefire. ยท The release of all hostages: Hamasโ€™ and the thousands held by Israel. ยท A Peace Process, under the UN, supported by a commitment by the International Community to end Apartheid and to safeguard Equal Civil Liberties for All. ยท As for what must replace Apartheid, it is up to Israelis and Palestinians to decide between the 2-state solution and the solution of a Single Federal Secular State. Friends, We are here because vengeance is a lazy form of grief. We are here to promote not vengeance but Peace and Coexistence across Israel-Palestine. We are here to tell German democrats, including our former comrades of Die Linke, that they have covered themselves in shame long enough โ€“ that two wrongs do not one right make โ€“ that allowing Israel to get away with war crimes is not going to ameliorate the legacy of Germanyโ€™s crimes against the Jewish People. Beyond todayโ€™s Congress, we have a duty, in Germany, to change the conversation. We have a duty to persuade the vast majority of decent Germans out there that universal human rights is what matters. That Never Again means Never Again. For anyone, Jew, Palestinian, Ukrainian, Russian, Yemeni, Sudanese, Rwandan โ€“ for everyone, everywhere. In this context, I am pleased to announce that DiEM25โ€™s German political party MERA25 will be on the ballot paper in the European Parliament election this coming June โ€“ seeking the vote of German humanists who crave a Member of European Parliament representing Germany and calling out the EUโ€™s complicity in genocide โ€“ a complicity that is Europeโ€™s greatest gift to the antisemites in Europe and beyond. I salute you all and suggest we never forget that none of us are free if one of us is in chains.
