At Polshea Farm in Cornwall - a supplier to Cathedral City Cheese - we filmed calves being taken from their mothers shortly after birth. Calf separation is standard practice in the dairy industry worldwide. Farmers do this so that the calves do not drink the milk meant for sale, and therefore eat into their profits. This truck is transporting dairy cows that farmers no longer want. Perhaps they are producing less milk or failing to calve. The average age of slaughter for a dairy cow in the U.K. is around 6 1/2 years. During this time she will have given birth ~4 times, and produced 32,000 litres of milk. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 WE ARE SO ANGRY…WE NEED YOU TO WATCH AND SHARE… Today at the Public Accounts committee Mr Brendan Gleeson Secretary General of Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine Dept of Agriculture, Food and the Marine sought to set the record straight. He went on to say “ I think I said in relation to the current Shannonside investigation that it was about animal welfare and identification issues. In fact it’s JUST about traceability and identification.” Mr Michael Sheahan previously said before the committee, that a lot of soul searching was done at DAFM in the wake of the RTÉ Prime Time RTE investigation. This soul searching has obviously lead them to the conclusion that no “welfare” investigation is needed. Anyone who watched the Rte Investigates Programme will have been deeply disturbed by the appalling welfare breaches at Shannonside. The cruelty and abuse inflicted on the horses is abhorrent. Horses punched, whipped, left dying, injured, terrorised and brutalised. It simply defies belief that there is NO WELFARE INVESTIGATION !!!

For Henry, these demands must be met: 1.Gurpreet Digwa should be prosecuted for perverting the course of justice, assisting an offender and obstructing the police. 2.Moga Singh should also be investigated for his role in the ordeal. 3.If you come to this country, commit a serious crime, then you have violated our trust and abused our hospitality and for that, you must face the consequences of your actions. Residing in the UK is a privilege and for that reason, this privilege should be removed from the Digwa family. They should all be deported. 4.A full and transparent public investigation into Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary and the arresting officers’ conduct. If we have to continue to peacefully demonstrate for justice, like we did for the release of the police body-worn camera footage – then so be it.

"How do you allow the criminal to lead the investigation?" Karen, Katie and Mike Rude give us the latest update from Universal Ostrich Farms. There is a growing concern that the number of birds here is far lower than it should be and the family has been desperately trying to get a head count. Mike has been collecting evidence which was given to our RCMP this morning. The RCMP confirmed that they have begun and investigation and that is ongoing. Now we're hearing that the people informing RCMP for their investigation are the very ones that should be being investigated! The lack of transparency here is appalling. CFIA should have a headcount at all times in sharing this information would go a long way to easing the family's concerns. If CFIA won't do the right thing, I implore the RCMP to investigate this properly and do their job as police.
