Since it is stopping its operational flying, I think it is the right time to at least cover the history of MiG-21. The MiG-21, the MiG part is an acronym for Mikoyan and Gurevich, which was a designer and producer of this aircraft. MiG-21 in the Indian Air Force came in the year 1963. The first 28 Squadron was raised in Chandigarh of MiG-21. The MiG-21 being the first supersonic aircraft, the squadron was called the First Supersonics. Thereafter, MiG-21 was operationally deployed and involved in the 1965 operations. It had its fair share of operational history in 1965. Thereafter, coming to the 1971 war wherein MiG-21 was totally operationally deployed in all the squadrons. And the most important one of all is the attack on Governor's residence in Dhaka, that time East Pakistan, now Bangladesh, on 14th December 1971. On 15th December, the governor resigned. While the pilot operates the aircraft, our team monitors from the telemetry trailer, gathering holistic aircraft data like engine temperatures, airspeed, and battery levels. Each part of the aircraft is represented, with members from the battery, engine, propellor, flight control systems, guidance navigation & controls, and flight test instrumentation teams gathering data and monitoring real-time performance during flight. This test data helps to validate aircraft performance across mission profiles, supporting safe flights and preparing us for public operations.

A US Navy F-35 fighter jet crashes in central California near Naval Air Station Lemoore, according to a Navy press statement. The pilot ejected safely, and the cause of the crash, which occurred around 6:30 pm, is under investigation, the statement said. A local EMS crew was at the scene helping the pilot, and Cal Fire also responded, a Fresno County sheriff’s Office statement said. The aircraft was assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron VF-125, known as the “Rough Raiders,” the Navy said. VF-125 is a Fleet Replacement Squadron, responsible for training pilots and aircrew.
