Ten years ago, New Yorkers witnessed one of the many extraordinary examples of NYPD courage and professionalism. After an incendiary device was thrown into an occupied NYPD vehicle in Times Square, the uniformed officers inside heroically drove the vehicle away from crowded streets to protect countless innocent lives until the Bomb Squad could make it safe. The suspect then barricaded himself in his car in Columbus Circle, claiming he was wearing explosives. Thanks to the exceptional work of our patrol officers, hostage negotiators, Emergency Service Unit, Bomb Squad, and countless others, the incident ended without injuries. Looking back at these photos from when I was Commissioner is a reminder that some of the NYPD’s greatest successes are the tragedies that never happen. I remain immensely proud of everyone who answered the call that day. Their courage, discipline, and teamwork reflected the very best of the NYPD—and continue to inspire a decade later. #CopsCountPoliceMatter

C10s⁉️ | Officers from the South African Police Service have seized a vehicle that was found at the home of the son of former Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe. The vehicle is not a police car, but it was fitted with a police siren and white flashing lights, which are only allowed on authorised emergency vehicles. Officers came across the car as it was leaving the premises while they were returning to continue searching for a missing firearm. The vehicle had three occupants inside, two men and one woman. Police stopped the car and later seized it as part of their ongoing investigation.

#BREAKING TERRORISM UPDATE – JOINT INVESTIGATION LVMPD Sheriff Kevin McMahill was joined this afternoon by Chief Timothy Shea of the Boulder City Police Department and Special Agent in Charge Chris Delzotto of the FBI Las Vegas Field Office to provide an update regarding a critical incident that began last night near Boulder City. On Feb. 19, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Boulder City Police received a 911 call reporting a vehicle had crashed through a secured gate at a Department of Water and Power substation. The caller also reported hearing gunshots after the crash. Responding officers located a silver Nissan Sentra that had breached the facility’s perimeter fence and come to rest inside the secured area. Officers discovered a deceased adult male in the driver’s seat suffering from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Multiple firearms were observed inside the vehicle. There is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.

🚗 Another Vehicle Dumped on Our Streets Following the successful removal of the Renault truck, we now have another vehicle that appears to have been dumped, this time at the junction of Coleshill Road and Ventnor Avenue. The vehicle is visibly damaged and has been left in a position that is causing an obstruction close to the junction. While England does not yet have the same widespread pavement parking restrictions seen in London or Scotland, parking that causes an obstruction or creates a danger to other road users is a separate matter. As your local councillor, I will be reporting this vehicle to the local police so that appropriate action can be taken. If you are the owner of this vehicle, I strongly urge you to remove it immediately before enforcement action is considered. Our streets are not a dumping ground for abandoned or damaged vehicles. Thank you to the residents who continue to report these issues to me.

THE REAL STORY In Oak Park, Michigan, a Border Patrol agent was preparing to take custody of two Ecuadorian nationals at the request of local police. According to CBP, the male suspect punched the agent and fled on foot. The female also assaulted the agent, who then used a Taser to subdue her before placing her in a patrol vehicle. A large search involving additional Border Patrol units, local officers, a K9 tracking team, and an Air and Marine Operations helicopter was unable to locate the male suspect. The woman has a prior criminal record that includes larceny and possession of stolen property charges, along with an existing final order of removal from an immigration judge.

NEW: Bank robbers drag entire ATM in broad daylight through the streets of Oakland, CA, not far from the In-N-Out location that announced they were closing down. Oakland is like a 3rd world country. The ATM was stolen from a Bank of America around 7:30 a.m. One hour earlier, a separate ATM was stole from a business on Alameda Avenue according to police. According to a witness, there were 3 or 4 people involved however police were only able to arrest one suspect connected to the heist.

Another reckless and dangerous comment resurfaced from Zohran Mamdani, this time saying, “when the boot of the NYPD is on your neck, it’s been laced by the IDF.” These words could not be further from the truth. Israel has shared counter-terrorism expertise, intelligence coordination methods, and emergency response strategies — not brutality or violence. To blame NYPD misconduct on Jews is outrageous, yet this kind of rhetoric has become one of the driving forces of his campaign in New York. Making NYC less safe for police. Making NYC less safe for Jews. Making NYC less safe — period. Remind me why he’s a favorite to win again?

It's all about the bones. The attractiveness of the male face is from our dimorphic traits: characteristics that are selected by male-male ritualistic tournaments over millenia. Features that allowed the male to win against another male, just like the number of ocelli largely dictate if a peacock will win the lekking contest. For human males, we threw fists at each others faces instead of shimmering a bunch of "eyes" in our feathers. The faces that were naturally defensible to the fist won the tournaments and reproduced. Whenever a bit of this facial armor is added, in the key regions that allow a male to absorb a punch, aesthetics go through the roof.
