After 30 years of disinvestment in higher education, the cost to attend our colleges and universities has skyrocketed. We needed to do better. That’s why Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Education and his team went to work — and presented a blueprint to make higher education more affordable and accessible for all Pennsylvanians. And after Democrats and Republicans came together, we invested more in our HBCUs, community colleges, and Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education institutions — all while investing more money in new scholarships to help bring down the cost of higher education.

The current accreditation regime is not accountable to Floridians and has worked to stymie needed reforms, yet the Biden administration is targeting Florida for reprisal. We will not allow the unconstitutional actions of the Biden administration dictate how we reform our higher education system.

We need a major overhaul of our university system to put an end to the woke mind virus. Half of our universities should be closed and we should instead put more focus on setting up our young people for life with real trades and skills through apprenticeships.
