Summer is here and it’s really hot in Gaza reaching 30 degrees Celsius / 86 Fahrenheit. Now imagine that being a sick patient in a tent. Help now: That’s the case for many of the families in The Sameer Project camps and many cases get seizures due to the heat. We have multiple solar panels in our camps but they can’t provide fans for everyone, so our medical team assessed those most in need. The Sameer Project needs your support in purchasing fans for the families and money to fix some fans we already have. A fan approximately costs $525 for a new one (if found) and $280 for a used one. That’s aside from the prices for keeping the fans running. How many families can we provide shelter to in Gaza before the next rainstorm? Donate now: This week you allowed us to provide shelter to 300 people (40 tents) and we will hopefully buy more in the next couple of days. But this is a drop in the ocean from whats needed. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza don’t have adequate shelter or winter necessities. Tents cost around $300 right now and also shoes, blankets and sweatsuits are entering in small amounts through commercial trucks. Our “Give Warmth to Gaza” campaign plans to do bulk purchases and distribute to struggling camps across the Strip. The need is HUGE and this is why the current situation is not sustainable. Borders néed to open and we need to demand that loudly every single day.
