I recently attended a campaign event for Greg Abbott where he discussed property taxes, and I asked him why nonprofit hospitals were not paying their fair share. In classic politician fashion, he deflected and blamed someone else. This is a logical way to lower the tax burden for Texans, and I hope our leaders will look into it.

The scale, the atmosphere, and the opportunity this sale and raceday provide to the industry is second to none. Behind the scenes, the past two years have been about refinement, sharpening how we prepare our two-year-olds, leaning into our data, sports science, and detail. To see that work translate into results: winning the spring two-year-old features and now getting the quinella in the Magic Millions Classic, is incredibly rewarding. Toto doesn’t hold back when it comes to greetings! This characterful bull, with beautiful eyes and his sweet little tusks, arrived into our care in the most incredible circumstances. In April 2022, one of our ex-orphan herds arrived at our Ithumba Unit with a tiny calf. While a number of our wild-orphans are mothers, this calf wasn’t theirs! They’d evidently encountered the baby alone and knew he needed help - where better than the home where they were raised!
