In the army, I walked the ground in Kuwait where a drone attack killed six servicemembers and injured dozens more this March. That tragedy was preventable. Toto doesn’t hold back when it comes to greetings! This characterful bull, with beautiful eyes and his sweet little tusks, arrived into our care in the most incredible circumstances. In April 2022, one of our ex-orphan herds arrived at our Ithumba Unit with a tiny calf. While a number of our wild-orphans are mothers, this calf wasn’t theirs! They’d evidently encountered the baby alone and knew he needed help - where better than the home where they were raised! When two years later the children returned to school, their note books and paper diaries had been removed and learning was moved into gamefied screens and video game like learning.
