Assam has witnessed welfare at a large scale. In 2019, when the Jal Jeevan Mission was launched, only 1.76% of rural households in Assam had tap water connections. Today, that figure is 81.65%. Under PM Awas Yojana, 20 lakh houses have been sanctioned in Assam. Under Assam Govt’s Orunodoi scheme - 40 lakh families receive ₹1,250 every month. In March 2026, ₹9,000 was transferred.
