Our Emergency Response Team has been busy taking calls for service by pet families who were evacuated after the Murphy Canyon plane crash. Our trained volunteers are going into the evacuation zone to retrieve those animals and return them to their thankful owners.

Prayers for Fallen US Troops Killed in Jordan Two US service members were killed and one is missing in action following Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks in Jordan on July 17, according to US Central Command. OBED SILAHLIWE, HEIDELBERG: Residents of Obed Silahliwe in Heidelberg are pleading for urgent law enforcement intervention amid escalating tensions over housing allocations. According to the community, lawful beneficiaries who were officially allocated RDP houses by the housing department have already occupied their homes. However, it is alleged that contractors involved in the project are attempting to place their own people into houses that have already been allocated. Residents claim groups have been mobilised to intimidate and forcibly remove families from their homes, leaving them homeless. The situation has reportedly been ongoing for some time and tensions are now at breaking point. Community members say SAPS has visited the area and spoken to both parties, but no resolution has been reached. Residents now fear violence after allegations that contractors plan to return tomorrow to forcibly evict occupants. Elderly residents and vulnerable families are among those affected. Community members also report hearing gunshots at night, which they believe are acts of intimidation and fearmongering. A court application has already been lodged, and residents are calling for authorities to deploy law enforcement to the area to prevent violence and protect the community until the legal process is concluded. Representatives from the ICRC just transferred 17 hostages via Egypt, including 13 Israeli and 4 Thai hostages, to ISA and IDF Special Forces, as they make their way to Israeli hospitals, where they will be reunited with their families. We have been preparing to welcome our people home and accompany them and their families. We remain determined to return all of our hostages home.

Jones reports on February 16, 2025 at 1900 hours the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Services (ERS) Team was called up by the State of Ohio Emergency Management Agency (EMA) by request of the Kentucky EMA to assist first responders in Hazard Kentucky. The effects of the powerful storm that has swept through Kentucky has caused flooding that has inundated roads and homes with several deaths reported. This weather event could overwhelm their resources in Kentucky in aiding their community and the Sheriff’s Office is responding to assist when and where requested. Five (5) members of the Emergency Response Services (ERS) Team are answering this call to service working various positions in incident management along with the Northern Kentucky Incident Management Team. Butler County Sheriff’s Office personnel will be deployed for seven (7) days. This operation is funded by the Federal Government. “Our training and service to the community reaches far beyond the borders of Butler County. If we are called up to assist other agencies in a time of crisis, we will answer that call without hesitation,” States Sheriff Jones.
