Our food service workers, custodians, & security workers keep our government running. But this Republican govt shutdown is denying them work & pay — for no fault of their own. The Fair Pay for Federal Contractors Act would ensure they get the back pay they deserve once the govt reopens.

Ms. Willie has been a federal contractor for 44 years at the Library of Congress. During the shutdown she and her fellow UNITE HERE members joined me for lunch at my office. They missed paychecks during Republicans' government shutdown & had to find other ways to keep her bills paid. I'm fighting for our workers to get the back pay they deserve, and my Fair Pay for Federal Contractors Act would do just that. Congress should pass our bill immediately.

Democrats blocked my No Budget, No Pay Act, because they're happy to collect their own paycheck while they vote to shut down the federal government & keep federal workers from getting theirs. Their excuse? They have bills to pay. WELL, Senate Democrats, SO DO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

Democrats block bill to fund Military pay. The senate tried to pass a $852 Billion dollar defense spending bill. This money would have kept the Pentagon running, support National Security programs and guarantee pay for our Service Members. Our Military should never go without pay as their sacrifices are made every day. The members of Congress should not receive any pay when the Government is shutdown.

Our federal workers have been demonized since Trump took office and they are now being forced to work without pay, furloughed or even fired. That’s why Sam and I stopped by yesterday to thank some of our local federal employees for their service and delivered donuts and coffee to start their day. But they deserve much more than pastries. They deserve a functioning government where they can continue to do their critical work to support us and keep us safe. Thank you for continuing to serve our country. We need you more than ever.

Woolworths monitor workers in their warehouses, treating them more like robots than people. Every worker has the right to fair pay and a safe work place. Surely Woolworths with the profits they make can afford to treat their workers with the respect they deserve.
