Our food service workers, custodians, & security workers keep our government running. But this Republican govt shutdown is denying them work & pay — for no fault of their own. The Fair Pay for Federal Contractors Act would ensure they get the back pay they deserve once the govt reopens.

That’s why Sam and I stopped by yesterday to thank some of our local federal employees for their service and delivered donuts and coffee to start their day. But they deserve much more than pastries. They deserve a functioning government where they can continue to do their critical work to support us and keep us safe. Thank you for continuing to serve our country. We need you more than ever.
