Our Generation doesn’t know how to host 🤧🤧😤

Todays price is so much higher than yesterdays price. Hosting is not cheap and the least you could do as a “friend” is ask what can I bring

There’s no food.. 🤣 Even when people popped in randomly back in the day there was always food. Grandparents would say “how can you invite people to your house and not feed them”

I get the point, but at the same time, ‘our generation’ ‘s guests show up empty handed a lot of the time. That’s not how people did it either. So, whilst complaining about one tradition not continuing, people are perpetuating another not continuing also.

this is one of those scenarios where things go the smoothest when -everyone- follows the social etiquette. hosting means you’re providing food and drinks, guesting means you’re not showing up empty handed (wine, treats, a dish). when both parties play their role correctly, it results in plenty to choose from.

You’re also not supposed to go over empty handed, could offer to bring something or discuss food prior to coming, what you could cook or beverages to provide etc, it’s a group effort.

Yeah that generation still 😆 Psshh it ain’t even generational. Some people ain’t what you want them to be. This side always comes correct, wherever we at. 😁

I don’t go to anyone’s house empty handed to an event. I’m from the south and wasn’t raised that way. No matter if they hosting or not you ask to bring something. We also are broker than the last generation, so why can’t you chip in on something you are going to enjoy also?

if the person hosting has games and drinks then the guest are supposed to bring something…. anything, you don’t go to ppl house empty handed since they are opening their home to you
