I met with Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The United Kingdom has taken new important decisions in support of Ukraine and introduced new sanctions steps against Russia’s shadow fleet. Thank you! All of this works towards peace. I informed Keir about the consequences of the recent Russian strikes. We discussed the possible participation of the United Kingdom in the restoration of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the implementation of the agreements reached during today’s G7–Ukraine meeting, potential areas for further pressure on Russia, and steps to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense. Pump more military aid into Ukraine and tighten the screws on Russia with even more sanctions. 2. Any real peace has to lock in Ukraine’s sovereignty and security. 3. Post-deal, Europe’s gonna keep juicing up Ukraine’s defenses with military support and weapons. 4. European troops put boots on the ground in Ukraine, backed by the United States. Russia is never going to accept the deal. You can't promote peace by escalating the situation with European troops backed by the US military. You can't promote peace by increasing sanctions on Russia.

There was also a meeting in the “Ramstein” format. We are preparing decisions to support our joint defense production with partners. This is long-term security: our guarantees, European guarantees, guarantees for everyone that Russian aggression will not be able to expand and will not be rewarded. Russia must truly feel that war is worse than peace. That is exactly why sanctions are needed — especially against their oil trade. Sustained defense support for Ukraine is also essential, to protect our people and to defend our positions.
