@joiafoodfarm Very interesting. I read a good history of how the corn industry came to dominate so much US land use in @michaelpollan's book 'The Omnivore's Dilemma'. Recommend it.

Iowa is not for sale. Too much of our land is already in the hands of out-of-state investors - Wall Street funds and even foreign interests. What’s worse, we don’t even know how much. As Governor, I’ll require full transparency on who owns our land, take back land illegally owned by China, and make Wall Street pay, delivering tax relief to Iowa family farms. Our land is our legacy. It belongs to Iowa families, not global investors. Tomorrow, we’re announcing our Take Back Our Land Tour. We’re taking this fight directly to Iowans across the state.
