I appreciate the work yall have done the past few days, but it is a little concerning to see this have a DRM and take multiple verification processes just to get the model onto the unity project. Please do correct me if I’m missing anything or looking at this the wrong way. ❤️

Hi hi, so about the verification process. No this is not a DRM. There is no activation limit, no always-online check, and nothing that stops working after you install. Verification happens once, at install time, to confirm the package reaches a real buyer. After that, the files are yours to use under the creator's normal license terms.

Thanks for the info. I do still have some concerns regarding these in the Druffle TOS that I was shown from friends. Again, please correct me if we misread this.

I read some reviews and i see that a DRM has been added to the description. YOU SHOULD NOT USE DRM FOR ANY VRCHAT AVATAR FOR ANY REASON. There is no excuse for this other than to be predatory and is incredibly shady. It is just making the user experience worse in every way.

- Base sculpt, and educator. @ItsLunarArray - Additional sculpting, rigging, blendshapes, retopology, and sculpting for the ears, tail, mane/fur, eyebrows, and other small pieces. Meaty - Unity Setup, Marketing, Base Outfit Design, Base Textures, and small modelling projects. @Tubby__Tubs - Menu Icons @yeusep3 - Digital Signage, Logos, and Exporter Tool.

Get it here - Only on Jinxxy -

Adding a form of drm, plus locking it behind discord is kinda wild for something that doesnt mention if it even has a native quest build or mention any of the default performance stats imo

Try out the public version -

I some reviews talking about having to join a discord to get some kind of set up program. Is the set up program accessible without joining a discord after buying the avatar?

at the moment Yeusepe was only able to get it to work with Discord properly. We added that to the description as well (this was our fault). Later on, Yeusepe is looking to have his importer work without Discord auth and work on other OS types.

What is the importer for? Why not use a unity package like most people are used to? Genuine curiosity btw.

Here is the full explanation on how his tool works. This is not a DRM.

why require additional account like discord to verify? Is it not possible to verify with the jinxxy account? Why not include the verification software in jinxxy? I agree piracy of avatar base is a concern but the additional friction turned a maybe into a no.

Your DRM idea using a Discord login is not GDPR compliant so using this for EU/UK customers is a very bad idea just as a heads up.

Any ETA on making this whole custom importer work on something else than Windows? There's plenty of furries that use Linux and for this moment I'm locked out of a unity package just because I use a different OS, good thing I read the whole description and the reviews...

The amount of information you have to give creators just to buy and use a avatar is fucking depressing, and knowing some creators they'll use it to dox/harass you cough cough strawbunny, if this keeps going they just keep asking for more information

DRM on a VRChat avatar and having to verify the purchase you've already made on a discord server is definitely a decision If I was looking for an avatar, I would probably avoid a listing like this

Nice DRM that locks Linux users from buying your model it sure would be a shame if that measure just doesn't work and people just upload the exported meshes online anyways

LET'S GOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

i get why creators are paranoid about asset leaking and ripping, but trying to implement client-side verification or discord auth for a unity package is always a losing battle that only hurts legitimate buyers. from a technical standpoint, any custom importer or verification step only protects the files until they are unpacked into the unity project. the second those assets are loaded into the engine, the raw mesh, textures, and animators are right there in the folder. a ripper will bypass an installer like this in less than ten minutes and upload a clean unitypackage anyway, meaning the only people who actually have to jump through hoops are the ones who paid for it. on top of that, locking the import process behind a windows-only executable completely breaks the workflow for anyone using linux for their unity setups, and tying purchases to discord tokens just introduces unnecessary trust and privacy concerns for a standard 3d model. standard unity packages have been the industry standard for a reason. trying to reinvent distribution with verification barriers doesn't stop piracy, it just damages customer trust and makes the user experience objectively worse.

So you just made another nova beast

DRM + AI = No Purchase

It looks cool. The DRM does not however. And yes, it is in fact DRM, whether or not your willing to believe it or not. There's also the fingerprinting of the model, which also seems rather invasive.

I feel so bad for all the creators fighting for their life to get this out, I’m glad yall can finally rest a bit! 🩷

Been a fan of your stuff for a while- I understand that there should be a method to guarantee no unlicensed sharing takes place, but this method really seems like an awful way to go about it. DRM breaks trust, plus the lack of Linux support feels like it isn't fully fleshed out

lol using drm as if itll protect you

i was not expecting to hear KiiiKiii hear but i fw this so hard

Yes finally! Excited to finally be able to test this out and get to making edits, and congrats on the launch! You guys are certainly going to be swimming in it

Ts looks so generic

@JakeWerePanther You all did a great job here!!

Yay!!!!!

New fav avi btw🩵

The Drufcool 😎

This is a great looking avatar and I don't think it deserves the criticism it's receiving. I'm not going to pretend to know much about DRMs, but artists are allowed to protect their work. A DRM may not be the best way as others have said, but nobody's provided alternatives.

Can you please put gogo loco on the Demo 🥹

On a completely un related note- what facetracking do you use?

Dogshit
