Situation south of Lebanon [17/4/2026]: The Israeli army withdrew from Bint Jbeil and Khiam. 🇱🇧 🇮🇱 Following the ceasefire, the IDF withdrew to the outskirts of Bint Jbeil, allowing Hezbollah and resistance groups to resupply the besieged troops. In Khiam, the resistance managed to thwart Israel’s attempts to occupy the town after more than a month of fighting and forced the Israeli withdrawal to Tell al-Hamamis to the south-west. Following the withdrawal, Israel violated the ceasefire by bombing the town just as its inhabitants were returning. Thousands of civilians are returning to southern Lebanon following the announcement of the ceasefire, including by crossing the Litani River after the destruction of the bridges, in the hope of remaining in what remains their home, removing the flag of occupation and colonialism.
