Jamaica is using GIS to change how we identify and solve challenges. I am in San Diego to accept the Esri President’s Award in recognition of Jamaica’s use of this critical platform for problem-solving, most recently in our response to Hurricane Melissa. We are also seeing how cities around the world are using GIS to solve thousands of real-world challenges and the tremendous possibilities this technology offers. Jamaica will not be left behind. We are harnessing the power of technology to drive growth and development. Our participation in the Esri User Conference is both a recognition of the progress we have made and a reaffirmation of our commitment to using innovation to improve lives across Jamaica.
