Planning for enough feeds in dairy farming is very critical for sustainable production, animal health & nutrition. While Corn (maize) silage is the most recommended for dairy animals because of its higher nutrient composition ( high starch; regarded as the energy king ) compared to Napier grass silage, most farmers find it ( Corn/maize ) not economically sustainable( high costs of production recurrent every season). Napier silage ( with minimal production costs because of its regenerative capability) can be a very cost-effective alternative if properly managed (using molasses/maize flour additives) & can achieve similar milk yields compared to corn. Napier silage is also high-volume & offers higher protein. The Napier grass can also be served fresh ( cut, carry & feed). I wish you all fellow farmers a blessed Easter weekend 🙏

After losing his young nephew to cancer seven years ago, Muzaffarpur engineer Naaz Ozair turned personal grief into a mission for change. Realising that plastic in everyday packaging could contribute to health hazards, he set out to find an eco-friendly alternative. What he discovered was hiding in plain sight — corn husks, often burned by farmers and left to pollute the air, could be transformed into durable, biodegradable products. Naaz quit his stable job to focus full-time on research and experimentation. Over five years, he developed chocolate wrappers, disposable cups, plates, bags, and even banners from corn husks, and in February 2024, he received a patent for his technology. Today, he sells over 1,000 corn husk products daily, reducing plastic waste while supporting local farmers in Bihar, where corn is grown three times a year. His innovation recently earned recognition from IIT Patna, the Bihar Startup Program, and a Rs 30 lakh order from Indian Railways. Sarthak Goswami has brilliantly exposed how Ethanol production is ruining a beautiful city. He went to Byrnihat to investigate why a city with less than one lakh people is more polluted than Delhi, Ghaziabad & Lahore. The reason? There are more than 80 factories in a small area, that are constantly pumping dust particles in the air. The worst part is that these factories are producing Ethanol, the same product that is being sold as a solution to pollution. I hope Gadkari can explain this without calling Sarthak a traitor.
