It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the devastating loss of three of our brave deputies, who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty. These were not just deputies, they were fathers, sons, mentors, and protectors who dedicated their lives to serving our communities with courage and honor. Deputy Joshua Kelley-Eklund, Deputy Victor Lemus, and Deputy William Osborn were members of our Arson and Explosives Detail. Each of them had years of experience, a deep commitment to their calling, and an unwavering sense of duty. To say we are heartbroken is an understatement. We are devastated, we are grieving, and we are holding close the families, friends, and colleagues who now carry the weight of unimaginable loss. But even through our sorrow, we will honor them. We will remember their dedication, their sacrifice, and their legacy. May Deputy Kelley-Eklund, Deputy Lemus, and Deputy Osborn rest in eternal peace. Yesterday, I have visited the Kumki Elephant Training Camp at Musalamadugu, Palamaneru and was delighted to see the excellent care and training being given to the elephants. With the help of these Kumkis, we have successfully carried out two operations, bringing great relief and happiness to the local communities. We are taking special care of the Kumkis — just as they were lovingly cared for in Karnataka. Our forest teams are continuously monitoring their health, conducting regular check-ups, and providing every necessary care and comfort. This collaboration between Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka reflects our shared commitment to wildlife protection and compassionate coexistence. We are deeply thankful to the Government and people of Karnataka for their invaluable support in providing these Kumki elephants to Andhra Pradesh. Our special thanks to Ms. Meenakshi Negi, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & HoFF, and Sri Subhash Malkhede, Chief Wildlife Warden, Karnataka, for their guidance and cooperation in this effort. Special thanks to the people of Dubare and Sakrebyle for their warmth, support, and for wholeheartedly accepting and sending these Kumkis to Andhra Pradesh.
