The Disneyland Fire Department is parked outside security at the Mickey and Friends parking structure teaching kids how to use fire extinguishers this morning. In the 100+ days I’ve come here this year this is the first time I’ve seen them do something like this and I hope they do stuff like this more often.

I’m genuinely curious if this type of “humor” is appealing to African-American voters. Former President Donald Trump at the Black Conservative Federation Gala: “Then I got indicted a second time and a third time and a fourth time. And lot of people said that’s why the black people like me because they’ve been hurt so badly and discriminated against. And they actually viewed me as I’m being discriminated against.” Also, during the same event, he said: “These lights are so bright in my eyes. And I can't see so many people out there. But I can only see the black ones, I can’t see the white ones. That's how far I’ve come.”

My 2nd trip to Memphis is almost over and I’ve again really enjoyed my time here. So I felt the need to say something, especially after what LeBron said today. This city often gets a very bad rep and I’ve experienced that myself. Players shitting on it, media saying it’s dangerous, people asking me why I’d go here because I wouldn’t be safe, I’ve heard it all. All those people couldn’t be more wrong. This is a city very different from other “typical American cities”. Memphis has it’s own identity, an identity that makes it special. Memphis is a very warm and welcoming city. From the second my first trip started last year I’ve felt welcomed by the people. In the Fedexforum, on the streets, in the airport, in my hotel. My experiences have been nothing but positive. Not once have I felt unsafe or anything remotely close to it, not in my week long stay last year and also not in my almost 2 week long stay this year. Now of course every city has its weaknesses and room for improvement. And that’s where I have to give a lot of credit to the mayor and the people who run this city. Even in the year between my trips there has been clear improvement. The streets are cleaner, there’s roadwork being done and downtown is noticeably more lively compared to last year. Don’t let people who have never been here tell you what and how this city is. Memphis is a unique and beautiful city, Memphis is Memphis. I have truly loved my time here and I can’t wait to keep coming back in the future. But first one more game against Toronto tomorrow.

👤 there are a lot of different types of lego, right? what do you like? 🦊 i’m not picky and i like them all but the ones i have built and up right now are the roller coaster lego and the disney castle? i think that’s the one 🦊 it’s at a price point that i wouldn’t have even dreamt of when i was younger so i was really proud as soon as i bought it for the first time…like “i’ve succeeded 😎”

Hill sprints are starting to look like hill SPRINTS again! So grateful I GET to do this. You can live life with a “get to” mentality or a “got to” mentality—the choice is yours every day. Since last summer, I’ve gained so much gratitude for the things I GET to do again. When everything is taken from you and you can’t do anything under your own power, you realize just how much you took for granted. For me: coaching practice, playing in the yard with my kids, watching them compete in sports—even doing hill sprints. It wasn’t that long ago that I wouldn’t have been able to walk up that hill. Now, by the grace of God and the willpower to grind every day, I’m back to sprinting. Stop taking things for granted and appreciate the things we GET to do.

Honestly, something I’ve never seen at least after any Tennessee game, home or away…was the band marching out of the stadium like this. So many of us Vols fans didn’t care where they were going, but we were following them. Was literally having a parade through Gainesville last night. So few people can say they were actually in Gainesville when Tennessee won, and I’m now one of them. 1971, 2001, 2003, 2025…it’s sad those are the 4 most recent wins in Gainesville. But I can say I was there, and that’s all that matters to me.

Over the years, one thing I’ve learned in my investing journey is that the most important factor in any company is the person running it bc leadership is what really determines where a company ends up. Bc of this fact, I’ve spent A LOT of time studying founders and CEOs. I’ve looked at how they think, how they execute, how they make decisions when things get hard. Literally everything I could. And honestly, I’ve never seen anyone operate at the level that Elon does. What makes him different is much more than just big ideas. A lot of people have big ideas. I believe that’s the easy part. The difference is he actually goes for it and builds them. Like reusable rockets, self driving electric cars, global internet from space, humanoid robots, AI… most people would spend their entire career chasing just one of those things. He’s doing all of them at the same time. The speed he moves at, the scale he thinks at, and the risks he’s willing to take are on another level. He’s constantly pushing entire industries forward while most companies are just trying to protect what they already have. That’s why, as an investor, I pay so much attention to leadership. And after studying so many founders over the years, I can honestly say I’ve never come across someone who operates like Elon Musk. Love him or hate him, the level he’s playing at is simply unmatched. I think he’s the greatest entrepreneur we’ve ever witnessed. And I really don’t say that lightly.

Both players are rehabbing leg injuries with the expectation of being ready for the season opener. “I want to hit the ground running, so we’re taking the right precautions to do that,” said Cook. “So far so good.
