When giving sex education to children, accurate information is essential so they can understand exactly what is being done to them. Nollywood shows rape only to be a violent struggle. So, if you are defining rape to children and you tell children rape is when someone “forcefully...", children who are being abused will think that since they weren't forced then it is not rape. Teach them the correct definition: Rape is sex without consent. And children cannot give consent. The legal age of consent is 18. Also, sex education to children should not be gender-exclusive. Focusing solely on the girl child. Clarity protects children. Anything less makes them vulnerable. #JusticeForOchanyaOgbanje
