Reading the extracts in The Times, on your forthcoming book has left me in tears. I may have taught aspects of The Holocaust for over 25 years , but I began to realise how little I knew when I became a volunteer @wienerlibrary.

Thanks for mentioning Soviet crimes, studiously ignored by the Left then & now, & the Putin regime as they bang on about 'Fascism.'

With recent events we have seen books like this are so important to remind people of what families went through, looking forward to reading.

Thank you for this memoir. My Grandfather was of Jewish descent from near Lviv. He managed to "avoid" the Holocaust by being captured by the Soviets. He died before I was born and I have been researching the family tree. Stories like yours may show what may have happened to him.

Will be buying a copy for my mum- but will read it first before passing it on!
