Reading the extracts in The Times, on your forthcoming book has left me in tears. I may have taught aspects of The Holocaust for over 25 years , but I began to realise how little I knew when I became a volunteer @wienerlibrary.

What astonishing, moving account of courage, fortitude, family love, dignity in the face of utter horror. Your family story truly is one of miraculous survival, Danny. Thank you for having the resilience to record it

Thanks for mentioning Soviet crimes, studiously ignored by the Left then & now, & the Putin regime as they bang on about 'Fascism.'

With recent events we have seen books like this are so important to remind people of what families went through, looking forward to reading.

Greatly enjoying the excerpts in the Times, and promise I’ll buy the book. One question — as a Hendon resident, backing onto Shirehall Park — which road did you live on? Best wishes Laurie

Thank you for this memoir. My Grandfather was of Jewish descent from near Lviv. He managed to "avoid" the Holocaust by being captured by the Soviets. He died before I was born and I have been researching the family tree. Stories like yours may show what may have happened to him.
