Outlanders has some great sound work and visuals.

that voice is instantly recognizable

Agreed; sadly, instead of making it faithful to Watanabes space opera manga, the writers & animators made the OVA an Urusei Yatsura ripoff. That's why it flopped so hard in Japan, Watanabes was forced to change the mangas ending from his original vision.

that towel

When is that towel falling off?

I remember renting this from Hollywood Video back in the day. The original English dub. I have it on dvd but it's a redub

i hear my goat ✌️🥹

How in the heck is that towel stays on?

That animation goes crazy, that is almost anime movie quality.

Really good voice acting

Yeah but the thing is this particular ova was so bad the creator of this manga basically killed off his entire cast in the story in retaliation for what was done for this ova.

Relationship goals

Johji Manabe my GOAT.

God, I hope the real aliens are like this.

Does the towel come off at some point?

I think some of those slow deliberate movements could have been timed a bit better, but the choreography and some of the framing goes hard

Johji Manabe had some great stuff, and really surprised Outlanders was the only one to get an OVA (or anything really) Be sure to check out Caravan Kidd, Drakuun: Dragon Princess Army, and Outlanders in their manga form, epic stuff

I remember seeing a cartoon that reimagines an anime as a Disney cartoon and that Disney does this thing where there's always a goofy little comic relief sidekick. Here we see two of them.

Why is she fighting wearing only a towel?

Lum will always fight for her darling.
