Protests have reignited across Iran this evening, with major unrest reported in Tehran, Shiraz, Isfahan, Qazvin, Rasht, Qom, and Ramsar. Tear gas and clashes have been reported as crowds return to the streets despite heavy security. In Tehran’s west and south, IRGC units were seen threatening protesters with rifles. A mosque in Haft Hoz used by security forces was reportedly set on fire. In Ramsar, the atmosphere is described as near-martial law, with early shutdowns and military deployment. Very disturbing reports are coming in from multiple cities of the IRGC, Basij, and other forces opening fire on protesters.

Expecting Iranians to rise up right now is dangerously naive Trump and Netanyahu told Iranians to "take over your government." But the country is being bombed around the clock while the regime just massacred thousands of protesters in January. Anyone who steps outside with a protest sign right now won't be seen as a freedom fighter. They'll likely be labeled a U.S. collaborator and killed on the spot. The IRGC doesn't need Khamenei alive to pull a trigger. The desire for freedom is real. The conditions for a revolution are not. Not while bombs are still falling and the security forces are looking for any excuse to shoot.
