On September 20th, Fano units under the 16th and 55th Divisions (AFNM-BC) infiltrated Shawra Town, triggering several consecutive hours of fighting. Regime forces initially sustained heavy casualties and abandoned their camps before responding with extensive heavy-weapons bombardment. 🔴 Regime forces used mortars, DShK heavy machine guns, ZU-23 anti-aircraft guns, heavy artillery, and repeated drone strikes against former military positions and civilian neighborhoods, completely destroying more than 20 residential homes and causing significant civilian casualties. The bombardment eventually prompted Fano forces to withdraw from the town.

⚡️ Over 140 regime forces killed and 86 wounded as Fano intercepts major military reinforcement push toward Sekota across Central Gonder (📍Amhara Region, Ethiopia). 🔵 Between October 1st–2nd, intense fighting erupted from Dinzaz Kebele in Gonder-Zuriya to Werahla Kebele in East Belessa after a large regime force drawn from Qwara, Humera, Metemma and Azezo attempted to advance eastward through the Belessa-Qualisa corridor toward Sekota City. Fano units from the Tiqur-Anbessa, Mebreq, Gondere-Begashaw, Nisir-Belessa and Tarqo Kebede Divisions (AFNM-BC) intercepted the advancing columns with coordinated ambushes. 🔵 During an ambush between Dinzaz and Degoma, four military transport trucks carrying regime troops plunged into a deep ravine under heavy fire. More than 140 regime personnel were reportedly killed and over 86 wounded, while two ZU-23 anti-aircraft guns and a military patrol vehicle were destroyed. 🔵 Fighting subsequently spread across Degoma, Sibina, Qurungo and Abraham Kebeles in West Belessa, where Fano targeted military convoys and destroyed multiple trucks carrying ammunition, weapons and other supplies. Sergeant Tadesse Megersa and members of his squad were reportedly killed in Abraham Kebele, while regime forces deployed armed drones and attack helicopters to support their ground units. 🔵 Simultaneous fighting engulfed East Belessa, where Fano engaged the 401st ENDF Division around Amedo, Qalay-Medhanealem, Werahla, Arbaya and Dengora. ⚡️Over 270 TPLF fighters defected and surrendered to regime forces with military equipment, triggering hours-long battle along Tekezze River (📍Welkait-Tegede-Setit Humera Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia). 🔵 On September 17th, elements of the 172nd and Birshewa Divisions (TPLF 17th and 42nd Armies), led by commanders Mircha and Gebre, coordinated terms to surrender to regime forces near Betmolo and Tselimoy. An initial group of at least 15 unarmed fighters crossed the Tekezze River before TPLF units opened fire in an attempt to prevent further defections. 🔵 Regime forces responded with heavy counter-battery artillery fire across the river, triggering an intense, hours-long engagement. The sustained fire support reportedly enabled more than 256 additional TPLF combatants to cross the river and surrender with their military equipment. 🔵 More than 43 TPLF fighters were reportedly killed or wounded during the fighting and artillery exchanges. Regime joint forces also sustained significant casualties, although precise figures remain undisclosed. The defecting personnel were subsequently transferred to Beaker military camp, while wounded personnel were evacuated to regional medical facilities. 🔵 Following the mass defections, TPLF Colonel Lijalem Berhe issued emergency orders confining units to their camps and prohibiting troop movements without explicit central authorization in an effort to prevent further defections. #Amhara_War_Updates
