By this logic Bitcoin also overspent its incentives when it paid 50 BTC a block to people mining on laptops who contribute nothing to the network today. > "Become overly gamified" The point on Bittensor incentives being overly gamified is a fair critique of Bittensor from like 2 years ago, but has not been updated to account for upgrades and subnet improvement. dTAO: made emissions a market based system where subnet owners need to attract investment in order to earn emissions from the chain. Before dTAO subnet owners had to convince top validators to give them emissions. Post dTAO subnet owners need to convince a whole market. Emissions at the subnet level have also become more difficult to earn, not less, as owners refine incentive mechanisms and miner competition rises. But hey if you still think Bittensor is gameable, Bittensor is a permissionless protocol so feel free register a UID and start mining.

In the end, it took eleven police officers to arrest a young man for a thought crime. His name is Montgomery Toms. He's 20 years old. The arrest happened in the middle of the day, on Saturday, June 29, 2025, at a parade in central London. Monty, as his friends call him, wasn't yelling. He wasn't disruptive. He wasn't surrounded by a mob or leading a march. He was standing alone, quietly, wearing a cardboard sandwich board with a handwritten message. Two police officers approached him. "They told me to take off the sign," he told Public. "I said no. I told them I knew my rights. I wasn't yelling. I wasn't aggressive. I wasn't there to cause trouble. Appreciating that I didn't want to come across as overly antagonistic and there to cause trouble, I decided to remove myself from the situation. I decided to walk away." But two blocks away, nine more officers joined in. Eleven in total. They surrounded him, handcuffed him, and marched him to a police van. Monty Toms (Credit: Emma Dunwell) "I decided to walk away because I didn't want to seem antagonistic," he said. "But they followed me. Then they surrounded me." The arrest was filmed by Toms' friend, 21-year-old journalist Emma Dunwell. As officers swarmed him, Emma's voice cut through the chaos: "Have you read Animal Farm? This is Animal Farm." She also shouted, "Are you logging this as a non-crime hate incident?" Toms was taken to Charing Cross police station. He was locked in solitary confinement for nine hours. In the end, it took eleven police officers to arrest a young man for a thought crime. His name is Montgomery Toms. He's 20 years old. The arrest happened in the middle of the day, on Saturday, June 29, 2025, at a parade in central London. Monty, as his friends call him, wasn't yelling. He wasn't disruptive. He wasn't surrounded by a mob or leading a march. He was standing alone, quietly, wearing a cardboard sandwich board with a handwritten message. Two police officers approached him. "They told me to take off the sign," he told Public. "I said no. I told them I knew my rights. I wasn't yelling. I wasn't aggressive. I wasn't there to cause trouble. Appreciating that I didn't want to come across as overly antagonistic and there to cause trouble, I decided to remove myself from the situation. I decided to walk away." But two blocks away, nine more officers joined in. Eleven in total. They surrounded him, handcuffed him, and marched him to a police van. In January 2024, she voluntarily provided her cell phone to Detective Lieutenant Tully for the MSP to prepare an extraction report, under a promise by Ken Mello and Tully that it would be redacted. On January 22, 2024, Detective Lieutenant Tully applied for a search warrant to seize Karen Read's cell phones. Information from Ms. Gaetani served as a substantial source of the probable cause in Tully's affidavit—paragraphs 72 to 89, I'd say a good 12 to 15 paragraphs dedicated to her. Mr. Cosgrove is currently seeking to search Ms. Read's phones in anticipation of seeking an indictment against her and Mr. Kearney for conspiracy to commit witness intimidation. What the fuck? As a result of her civil complaint against him, Mr. Cosgrove voluntarily withdrew from the 2024 case, recognizing the obvious conflict when a prosecutor is sued for intentionally harming a witness in a case he is prosecuting. Her direct contact with Mr. Mello and Detective Lieutenant Tully resulted in Mr. Mello being disqualified from a now-dismissed 2024 case because his interactions with her made him a material defense witness. On December 14, 2023, she was interviewed by Detective Lieutenant Tully and Mr. Mello's investigator. On December 22, 2023, she was summoned to testify before the grand jury. In January 2024, she voluntarily provided her cell phone to Detective Lieutenant Tully for the MSP to prepare an extraction report, under a promise by Ken Mello and Tully that it would be redacted. On January 22, 2024, Detective Lieutenant Tully applied for a search warrant to seize Karen Read's cell phones. Information from Ms. Gaetani served as a substantial source of the probable cause in Tully's affidavit—paragraphs 72 to 89, I'd say a good 12 to 15 paragraphs dedicated to her. Mr. Cosgrove is currently seeking to search Ms. Read's phones in anticipation of seeking an indictment against her and Mr. Kearney for conspiracy to commit witness intimidation. What the fuck? In the past few months, Ms. Gaetani has publicly accused numerous prosecution witnesses and sources—including Kate Peter, Leigha Genduso, Detective Lieutenant Tully, and Jen McCabe—of assorted misconduct that adversely impacts their credibility. On September 5, 2025, she sued Mr. Cosgrove and Detective Lieutenant Tully for intentional infliction of emotional distress and interfering with her rights by threat, intimidation, or coercion. That same day she served notice of intent to sue the Norfolk DA. As a result of her civil complaint against him, Mr. Cosgrove voluntarily withdrew from the 2024 case, recognizing the obvious conflict when a prosecutor is sued for intentionally harming a witness in a case he is prosecuting. And finally, point 13: As a result of Ms. Gaetani's civil complaint against him, Mr. Cosgrove voluntarily withdrew from the prosecution of the now-dismissed 2024 case because he, quote, “recognized the obvious conflict created by circumstances where a prosecutor is sued for intentionally harming a witness in a case where he is prosecuting.”
