There is no plan to leave until we get three things done: pass a continuing resolution to keep the government open, confirm over 70 of President Trump's nominees, including Todd Blanche to be attorney general, and start the process on the Budget Resolution and reconciliation, including as much of the SAVE America Act as possible. Voter ID is common sense, we must ensure only American citizens are voting in American elections. That's What's Moving on Monday!

I think we've all learned through history there's no political party or institution that benefits from a government shutdown. I don't know what the outcome will be in terms of a compromise. The cleaner the continuing resolution, the better. We need to move on with the business of appropriating through regular order.

Today, the King County Council in my district voted UNANIMOUSLY to approve a first of it's kind resolution to put in place strict guardrails on any taxpayer funding to DHS and ICE. This is such an important and unprecedented step to protect our community from Trump and his DHS's militarization of our cities. So proud of my friend, King County Councilwoman Teresa Mosqueda, for leading this!!
