Great White shark just off the coast of Montauk, NY today....what a beauty! This drone footage was taken today, May 12, 2025 in Montauk, New York. At 8:30am this morning I spotted my first Great White Shark of the season! Just a few hundred feet from the coast of Montauk. Great whites are known to feed and breed off the coast of New York, and this should not alarm anyone. For me this was super exciting, as I have been flying these waters for 8 years and this is the earliest shark spotting I have had in a season and it is also the closest to shore I have spotted a great white. Great White shark just off the coast of Montauk, NY today....what a beauty! This drone footage was taken today, May 12, 2025 in Montauk, New York. Sharks on shore with paddleboarder- Bridgehampton NY Featured here is drone footage taken of a paddleboarder among multiple sharks in a school of menhaden baitfish on shore. These are most like spinner sharks averaging 4-5ft in length feeding on a bait ball of what locals call “bunker”. I watched as this school traveled right in front of the Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club, 8/12/25 approximately 10:45am.
