Notice how Dave Ramsey immediately goes into mocking people saying that there's an affordability crisis. They have above average income with presumably no other debt. meaning no credit cards and no student loans. Crazy how somebody can pay off debt under those circumstances.

At that age, they definitely had a hefty flow of income coming from somewhere. That or one of the two has an inheritance that is not being disclosed.

I’m calling it right now. One if not both of their families helped out. Someone got a large inheritance

What kind of lies is this. Berry farm picking to paying off a mortgage, going on vacation and paying for school ? There is something missing from this video. No one is questioning this video?

If they have no student loans and we're able to pay off a 225k house in less than 2 years living on only one income w multiple vacations and not "sacrificing" something isnt adding up here lol. Must come from wealth

to say we don't have an affordability situation with our real estate is a fucking lie

Picking berries for 20k a year each. In 3 years they paid out over 250k$. Not counting their 75k$ in bills. Makes sense. They paid over 350k$ in 3 years while actually making 120k$ in 3 years... Made up bs.

"a small loan of $225,000 and we paid off our mortgage in 22 months" I'm not hating, I actually am proud of these people, I feel like we're missing a lot of information when it comes to their income. Working on a farm, and owning / operating a farm are two very different things.

They purchased a home, put down half (rich mommy/daddy?) then paid an extra 5-6k a month while paying it off. Hmm 🤔

The price of that house is almost half of the national average (around 410k) so yes we still have an issue and these two got an lower 1/3 house and got pretty lucky

How do you pay off a mortgage in 22 months at that rate when you only make so much per month they must’ve been making serious money every month

TrashDiscourse's profile picture

LOL they had over an extra $10k a month. GTFOH

@DaveRamsey is a dumbass with his “affordability” mocking tone. He is out of touch. I feel bad for GenZ, Boomers love seeing them struggle.

HTH does a couple in their early 20’s pay off a $220,000 mortgage in 22 months. Thats not achievable without some kind of financial assistance from somewhere?

Damn… now you have $0 in the bank and $250k locked into a property… how genius

Im curious about where they live and what year they bought really. $1236 morgage on a 225K home is around 3-4% interest rates, which last happened 5 years ago. IF they bought 5 years ago, that same house would be $300K+ today and morgage would go up by $1000 a month.

Should of invested the money instead. Paying off the mortgage was not the best choice

They make $150k to $170k. They both have white collar jobs in likely a low cost of living area - maybe they are 40 minutes outside a large city where an entry level job at $85k isn't unreasonable for the right field. $140k of $220k take home feels real to me.

I love how they said that the only kind of job they had was picking berries when they were teenagers what’s their job now? No average 30,000 a year income from both of the two people can afford to pay off $140,000 mortgage in 22 months their Nepo babies I’ll bet my life.

Nothing about this is normal for the average American that is struggling to pay for housing. The old geek that made a comment about no one can afford a house sarcastically has no clue because he doesn't live in reality.
