Pakistan Customs has launched a crackdown against smuggled cigarettes throughout the country. Godowns & stores at multiple locations in different cities have been raided, and large quantities have been seized over the past couple of days. 1/4

After enhancement of FED on cigarettes,reports were received that the smuggling of cigarettes has witnessed significant increase.Over the last week,Customs teams in different cities have identified godowns used to store smuggled cigarettes for distribution to shops for sale. 2/4

Several raids have been carried out over the past two days & more operations would be conducted in the next few days. 3/4

Recovery of huge quantities of Foreign Brands like Benson & Hedges, Dunhill, Pine, mond, esse, captain black cigarillos, Milano and others has been made. The value of cigarettes seized so far is estimated at Rs 33.6 million. 4/4

Mr. FBR Will you give me answer in response of my humble concern as citizen? How and where from this material including drugs can enter in our country? If it is coming from Airport or other border points then what Custom authorities are doing? We are paying tax for their cost.

When planning to launch operation against smuggling of Iranian petrol and diesel. Ya'all don't have balls to do that because mir jafar generals r getting their parts from oil smuggling!!! Between should I tell who have the biggest part in Pakistan tobacco and their biz is getting affected by smuggled cigarette

These raids will only result in a huge loss to Wholesale/ Retail community as they are selling what's available in market. Any reason why the competitive authorities appalled to confiscate when billions of sticks coming into Pakistan from closed borders i.e Chaman / Torkhum etc ?
