This incident is part of a larger pattern of Afghanistan providing safe havens to groups and individuals opposed to Pakistan, including TTP, BLA, BLF, and figures such as Khattak and his associates from Peshawar, as well as Achakzai. Some Waziristani individuals, for whom the Afghan government in the 1970s started a prime-time radio show called Pakhtunistan to support those who wanted to separate from Pakistan, as well as tribes like the Mari, Mengal, and Bugti from Baluchistan, among others, are also part of this pattern. The history shows very clearly that Afghanistan is the one that started interfering in Pakistan’s internal affairs and using Afghan soil against Pakistan. ALERT: Pakistan Says Border Closure a Gain if It Prevents Terrorist Attacks from Afghan Soil Speaking at a weekly press briefing in Islamabad, Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson, Tahir Andarabi, acknowledged that the border closure with Afghanistan has caused losses for some traders and has affected trade, calling it a deficit from an economic perspective. Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Baloch groups, and other internal problems already existed there. Pakistan therefore should not attribute its internal situation to Afghanistan. If Pakistan is being harmed by activities originating from anywhere inside Afghanistan, it should provide us with the information and cooperate with us so that we can address and prevent it. We control all Afghan territory and the country’s borders, and we do not see any such activity taking place.
