Palestine Action should never have been proscribed a terrorist organisation. The Government tried to use counter-terror laws, laws designed for terror groups like al-Qaeda, against a protest group. Because in a democracy, protest is not terrorism. And it never should be.

Treating protest as terrorism leaves the door wide open for governments to suppress protest movements in the future, while clamping down on solidarity with Palestinians right now. We cannot challenge injustice and uphold our own rights if we cannot come together to protest. We cannot allow the government to take that right away.
