Sometimes dead bodies refuse to get buried, it's common in Nigeria; But it's not the dead resisting, there's a spirit manifesting. In most cases a diety/spirit is trying to avenge the dead person by resisting burial, this will raise an alarm & get the community to start investigating.

Omo I remember when coffin fall for main road and the dead body roll comot, everybody park car take off as the dead body no gree make them put am back inside the coffin

I heard of this story of corpse resisting being taken to certain places for burials. We all know how dramatic pallbearers could be, but don’t completely take away spirituality from this display. It does happen for real.
