Speak Punjabi and English. Do not even worry about Hindu.

I think Punjabis, just like most "once ruling rulers", have an unqualified sense of superiority, this is common in India with the yadavs, shettys, Gujjars, some jat lineages, and maybe some once warrior clans in the north east too.

Definitely, every Indian should know Hindi if you want to succeed as a politician in the North or to sell chai and pakoda.

Go to any state in India and the people speak their own language. The only people speaking Hindi are those in Delhi, the politicians, actors, TV presenters and the rest of the mass media.
