I was just a kid in the 90s so I don't remember much first hand, but from everything I hear from people who were older at the time is how great everyone got along, but I think it was because Whites were still relatively isolated from blacks.

I definitely think White people are much more awake today which is a good sign, but it might be too late to even matter.
