After catching the Paperboy NES commercial, I’m hurled back to the golden era of pedal-powered news flingers, those daring paperboys (and girls) who once ruled the suburbs. Picture it: pure chaos on two wheels, papers soaring into bushes like misguided homing missiles, and that one rogue mutt hot on your tail, turning every delivery into a boss-level chase. Nostalgia hits hard. These days, if a newspaper somehow still escapes the digital guillotine, it’s lobbed from a car window by some grown-up who’s swapped the Schwinn for a sedan. Simpler times? Gone faster than a misthrown Gazette sailing into Mrs. Jenkins’ prized rosebushes.

We need a remake! I loved this game! But make it awesome, none of this woke crap. I dont want his bicycle to identify as a scooter...

I used to play the SNES version. How many lives I lost crashing in stupid ways, but the most fun was throwing the newspapers and bothering the neighbors xD

This game just doesn't make sense to 2025 kids. My children don't understand that people used to do this... It's so rare these days and especially our neighborhood

This commercial (plus playing the arcade version) got me to go get a copy shortly after at Toys R Us. It was also the first NES game I bought with my own earned money. It played pretty well (60 fps), had great SFX, and that main tune is both annoying and great at the same time.

For some reason I know this commercial. Not sure why.

Breakdancers were SO annoying in this game. Were at the worst places when trying to dodge hazards. XD

A classic, sad that this is no longer a common childhood experience - being a paperboy... not breaking the glass of your neighbor's house - though that did happen. (Errant baseball... I'm looking at you.)
