🫩‼️South African police services are harsh on South African citizens and lenient on illegal immigrants. If it was South African citizens fighting with the police like that they would have been shot dead and most those around them would have been arrested. It the same as when white South Africans protest and damaged a police van in Senekal, they were never arrested. The South African police services is always heavy-handed when it comes to black South Africans.

I quoted a post about Nigerian legislators cancelling their trip to South Africa and said it was long overdue. I said Nigeria should stop patronising South Africa altogether. South Africans came under my post saying things like, “Nobody wants to associate with Nigeria,” and calling Nigeria a shithole. The irony is hilarious. Before looking down on Nigeria, look around your own country. This is South Africa. This is where millions of black South Africans live. The same country where some black South Africans attack and blame other Africans for problems that clearly run much deeper. And then some of you boast about South Africa as though the whole country is developed. Let’s be honest: a lot of the development you proudly point to exists in areas built and controlled by the white minority, while millions of black South Africans still live in poverty and informal settlements. President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia has spoken out strongly against xenophobia and Afrophobia in South Africa, saying that South Africans do not have to kill fellow Africans to resolve labour-related issues. President Hichilema reminded South Africans of the sacrifices Zambia made during the struggle against apartheid, arguing that bridges and other infrastructure in Zambia were bombed by the apartheid regime while the Zambian government was supporting Umkhonto weSizwe and the African National Congress in their fight for liberation. Zambia paid a heavy price for that solidarity because it believed in African brotherhood and the liberation of fellow Africans. He argued that this spirit of African brotherhood should not disappear today because of what he described as a xenophobic mentality that has gripped parts of South Africa. President Hichilema said what is happening in South Africa is wrong and unacceptable, stressing that legitimate concerns about jobs, labour and immigration cannot justify violence against fellow Africans. His message is essentially that the solidarity Africans showed South Africans during the struggle against apartheid cannot be forgotten now that South Africa is free.
