I am very unsettled by the cozy horror of Parasect.

Imagine if Parasect got a 3rd evolution that had two version of it. one is a Ghost/Grass type and the other is a Bug/Grass type. you can guess in wich one the bug didn't make it and in the other the Mushroom and the Bug became one being no longer fighting for dominance.

I really love how Pokopia still treats the Pokémon as living creatures and doesn’t dance around some of the more morbid stuff about them, kind of like nature documentaries. Imo most Pokémon spin offs tend to soften this stuff too much.

can someone please explain to me why I’m never prompted to LISTEN to a convo going on and it always just prompts me to talk to ONE of them?

it only works with very specific pairs of pokemon

Oh so the spirit is still in there?? So I guess paras is still alive inside, but the mushroom has control of the body? It's also continuing to be morbidly sad that the mushroom personality doesn't act evil in any way. It's just an awkward lil guy.

Parasect should be capable of learning more Dark/Ghost type moves.

Parsect is still probably a conscious continuation of Paras. In that although Paras’s brain is dying, the mushroom probably absorbed all of Paras’s memories and thus can continue the life that Paras left off.

They should give Parasect another evolution that makes Paras take over it's body again.

Maybe I'm being optimistic, but considering more openly malicious-on-paper Pokemon have shown to still be good and kind the fact that the mushroom still has actual emotions and thoughts like any Pokemon means its biology may be morbid, but it still legit wants to be friends

To the new gen kids, this is like that character in Jujutsu Kaisen Suguru Geto after he got his head stitched The body and memories are still there, but it's no longer him Just like this Parasect
