I'm 75 hours into Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and it's amazing. Truly. But there's a problem: It's way too long, a common problem with recent years' great AAAs, from RDR2 to TLoU2. AAA games should be tailored experiences, not lifestyles choices. Leave the bloat to A/AA & GaaS.

🧟 Online co-op in the original Resident Evil is no longer just a dream. Modder Aydan Watkins Aydan is working on a very early proof of concept for online co-op following the recent release of the Resident Evil decompilation. 🕹️ One player acts as the host, while the other joins as the client. Both players can already connect and be rendered across different rooms, with movement, animations, and player names synchronized between clients. The game also updates correctly when someone disconnects and rejoins. It’s still far from finished, but the foundation is already working. If this keeps progressing, playing the original Resident Evil online with a friend could actually become a reality. 😌

holy shit, opus 5.5 is kind of insane at animation. i didn't write a single line of code. it wrote the story, drew every frame, and made the music. no image assets at all, it's all JS. the story is called "small print": claude gets a pile of requests every day. it circles the human part hidden inside them, like "one hand. baby's asleep", and drops it into a jar. at night, those words turn into stars and join up into a constellation. rendered with hyperframes, all in one index.html. it synthesized the music in python, then went through the render second by second and polished it again.

Fable 5.1 one-shot this Dark Souls meets Diablo game. All code, 222 KB total, zero asset files. Every texture, model and sound effect is generated procedurally. The whole sfx system is 7 KB of Web Audio synthesis. It nailed mechanics I only named in text: stamina, dodge rolls, barbarian skills, and a punishing Souls-style boss. The soul pickups and death animations came out way smoother than I expected. What gets me is how much it infers from a few genre references, with no screenshots or video to go on. Reaching this level used to take dozens of prompts in Sol or Opus 5. Anyone with taste can now make really fun games in the browser.

This is the Full Experience of what it is like to play a 1v1 against someone who Reaches EVERY SINGLE PLAY in NBA 2K24 👍🔥 I had 7 turnovers and still won the game 22-2... "Stop spam dribbling in front of the defender! They Should be able to rip you!" - I am simply running or do ONLY 1 move in every single one of these clips, and he gets steals INSTANTLY. The ball also TELEPORTS out of my hands mid dribble animation into the defender, which is a bug and is already being removed from the game. "Your build has no strength! Strength prevents steals!" - I have a 90 Strength and all my badges "Pass the ball and stop over dribbling" - I AM PLAYING THE (1v1 COURT) DO YOU WANT ME TO PASS TO CASPER THE GHOST IN THE CORNER OR SOMETHING????? "Stop complaining about steals, you only complain when it's to benefit you!" - I won 22-2 while having 7 turnovers bro...it's not to benefit me, it's to BALANCE THE GAME...a 5 year old could get 6 steals in a NBA 2K24 game, this should not be happening it doesn't make sense.
